The Pima Air and Space Museum, located in Tucson, Arizona, is one of the world’s largest, privately funded aerospace museums. Since 1991, it has also housed the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame.

The museum is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. It has a reasonable admission price of 13.75 for adults, and 8.00 for children. Children under age 6 can visit for free.

You will want to set aside plenty of time for your visit. The museum houses over 300 aircraft and spacecraft. It has five large hangars totaling 100,000 square feet of exhibit space. After exploring the exhibits, you can relax and enjoy a meal or snack at the newly-opened Flight Grill.

Make sure you check out the exact replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer, the aircraft that made history with the Wright Brothers. Other highlights include the World War II Combat Gliders exhibit and the Space Gallery. The Space Gallery features a full-scale model of the X-15, which is the first rocket-powered aircraft to break the envelope of space.

Since its opening in May of 1976, the Pima Air and Space Museum has educated and delighted visitors from around the globe.

Ogle to your delight and even go home with some great geodes if you so desire!
Dia Las Muertos – Going on now, this incredible art exhibit explores the complex relationship between Latinos and their dead. It’s not as somber as you would imagine and actually will inspire you to use more color and celebrate fuller in your art.
Great Tucson Beer Festival – Okay, so it’s not exactly “cultural” but you can try a lot of different regional beers and have one heck of a good time! It takes place in October and it’s a great way to get out and enjoy the fall weather so we wholly endorse it.

What is enjoyable, interesting, memorable, educational, fun, depends on the age and interests of the children concerned. A newborn, a week or two old, taken to an outdoor classical concert, may begin a life long love of music while happily ensconced in a baby seat set on a blanket laid out on the grass. Total awareness, no, just emotional responses to the happiness of the crowd, the attention from family, friends and strangers and the music floating in the warm night air.

A toddler may be delighted with exploring a sand box or playground with their parents in constant attendance.

Children five to ten will enjoy The Tucson Children’s Museum. Located in downtown Tucson, it inhabits the historic Carnegie Library and may inspire your child to take an interest in history and architecture. The Museum offers amazing hands on exhibits. Children can climb on a fire truck, wander through Dinosaur Canyon, and visit a vet clinic and an enchanted rain forest all under one roof.

Children of any age will find enjoyment at any of the art and arts and crafts fairs offered throughout the year.

A child’s age, temperament, and educational level all influence what they will see and remember. Try not to over schedule and do provide calm loving guidance along with the freedom to safely explore their world.

Check the Internet for dates, times and locations of Tucson concerts, art fairs and arts and craft fairs.
